We offer two US Coast Guard approved maritime security courses:

 

Vessel, Company and Facility Officer, and Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties

NOTE:  Next  VSO/CSO/FSO Maritime Security Class is 7-8 December  2017 in Juneau.

The training team are experienced instructors in law enforcement, maritime security, and Coast Guard regulatory compliance.  Students find the training essential to their jobs.  They enjoy the case studies and field exercises.  Course critiques cite the rapport developed between instructors and students as key to the learning experience.

Vessel, Company and Facility Security Officer


Note:  We can come to you.  Many of our clients find it quite cost efficient and productive to have the course at their facility with training tailored to their operations.


This course meets the requirements of International Maritime Organization ISPS Code and US Code of Federal regulations and has been audited and approved by Det Norske Veritas on behalf of the US Maritime Administration and the US Coast Guard.

All training materials and instructional aids will be provided by Cape International.  Course instruction will include immersion in security plans, field exercises, and tabletop scenarios.  Class discussions, scenarios and exercises are tailored for the student’s facility or vessel security issues.

Attendees successfully completing the course will receive a course certificate and documentation of training topics.

Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties (VPDSD)

This one-day course has been approved by the USCG National Maritime Center and meets international STCW training requirements.

All training materials and instructional aids will be provided by Cape International.  Course instruction will include immersion in security plans, field exercises, and tabletop scenarios.  Class discussions, scenarios and exercises are tailored for the student’s current employment (tug, passenger, tank ship, domestic, international, etc).

Attendees successfully completing the course will receive a course certificate and documentation of training topics.

Course locations:  Juneau, Anchorage, Ketchikan in Alaska  OR we can in most circumstances obtain approval from the US Coast Guard to train at or near your facility.
